Importing a car to the UK

Hi everybody,

I recently visited France (my dad lives there) and saw a very nice Ami 8 for sale. The car is one I have always fancied and is very well priced... I have been trying to find out how feasible it would be to go there, buy it, drive it home and then register it in the UK.

The particularly tricky bit (I guess) would be insuring it while bringing it back....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your insurance company should temporarily insure you on the French plates. Phone your insurer to double check.
