HI, does anyone out there know anything about old Renault Traffic campers (1987). I need to replace the first motion shaft seal but can't find any workshop manuals anywhere. Do I need any special tools or is there anything I need to watch out for?? Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Ali

Hi, you've probably mended it by now. I should visit this site more often, but there aren't many Renault postings; is it because Renaults never break down (ha-ha), or are Renault owners too lazy to mend them?
Anyway, Haynes manual for the Renault 18 is useful for a lot of the old Trafic bits - brakes, wheel bearings, petrol engines(1397, 1565, 1647 & 1995cc), and the gearboxes look very similar.
(The Haynes manual for the Renault 25 (including the diesel) covers the 2.1 diesel engine as used in the Trafics.)
It looks like the oil seal is in the clutch housing which can be unbolted from the front of the gearbox.
