cooling fan squeal

One of the cooling fans on my Xantia has started squealing occasionally. It sounds like a dry bearing.

Can anyone tell me if the bearings can be lubricated, before I remove the front of the car?

I have had partial success lubricating the fan motors in situ, using the drinking straw attachment on my maintenance spray can, just remove the black plastic moulding for access, some of it seems to get in, I also managed to remove the fans from the front, provided the fan blades come off then the fastenings can be accessed ising small spanners.
