Xantia aircon drain tube location ?
Hi All,
Can someone tell me the location of the drain tube for the drip tray for the aircon on a 1993 1.9TD Xantia, and how accessible it is ?
My mum recently got her aircon regassed (previously not working since she got the car) and now its generating a puddle of water in the passenger (left side) front footwell.
From the large amount of water I was thinking at first "oh s**t, heater matrix" but she says it definately only happens when the aircon is used...
Any suggestions ? Dashboard out job, or poking a wire up through an exterior drain tube ?
PS, while I'm at it, can someone tell me how many drain tubes there are for the sunroof (2 or 4 ?) and where they exit ? I suspect one of those may also be blocked.
Regards,
Simon

Here's the heater detail from pr.net: Heater
Item 7 is the drain tube. It just hangs down at the back of the engine bay on the passenger side - but I seem to remember it's quite high up and hard to see. It's a rubber tube about 1/2" diameter. You might be able to poke up it, but you've got that 90° bend to cope with. Alternatively you might be able to poke it back from inside by taking the pollen filter out. Otherwise you might as well change the matrix while you have the dash out... Alternatively, just don't use the A/C, or stick a bucket under it!
PS: I forgot about the sunroof, I can't find the drain tubes on pr.net, but almost certain there will be 4 - draining behind the front and rear wheel arch liners.

Decap? A 1984 Visa Decapotable. And, yes, it's rusty. The lay up is now extending to nearly 6 years.... I haven't got a pic of all of it, but here's a couple of the rust:
Pic of the side when I was replacing the exhaust manifold (the motorbike is a 1929 Velocette model U - another project 'in progress'!!)
This is what is might look like. One day. Visa Decap
Of course, if you're really mad you might end up like this.....
The trailer was our original 1982 Visa Special, that was also v rusty, and fell victim to my mate's angle grinder!

Ah I see. Must admit that at first I thought it was something to do with the failing strut tops which is something I need to get to grips with now I've bought this -

I think it's a model U, but yes, it's 250cc 2-stroke single cylinder. Reg in Bolton in 1929 (EN 4251), bought by my Grandad in about 1938 - cheaply, he worked in a motorbike garage and it came in with some clutch problem, so he bought it off the disgruntled customer. He rode it on and off till 1953 when he crashed it and gave up motorcycling, then stashed it in his garage. I inherited it after his death in 2000. I have stripped it, but other things have got in the way, and it's now in a pile of bits waiting for me to put some time and money into it! I guess it's waited nearly 55 years another couple won't hurt Be nice to get it going for 2009 when it will be 80 years old. The Visa will be 25 years old then too, so that would be good as well. Funnily enough I seem to remember thinking the same thing for 2004 for 75 / 20 years!

You are right, it in NOT an MOV (which was a 250 4 stroke)... however, I rode one of these 2 srokes in around 1955, and I seem to remember that it might have had an outside flywheel?
It was certainly a utilty get-to-work bike, but no doubt it had Velocette build quality. See: http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/Bike%20Dir ... 201934.htm

It is a model U and quite rare, since in 1930 it was replaced by the GTP (which is the one I rode). Keep it another 80 years... be worth a mint!
