Xantia Vibrate at 100km/hr

Unread post by thing »

My Xantia TD vibrate when reaching speed of 100km/hr. Already had all 4 wheels balanced. Alignment is ok also. What else could be the cause of the vibration? Is it something wrong with driveshaft?

I would check your tie rod end joints for excessive play on the front wheels. You can do this with the help of another person by watching the balljoint by the wheel ( may have to take the wheel off and use axle stands ).
If the person is moving the steering, and you can see the rod moving in/out, but the wheel doesn't move until a little more travel, you need to replace the balljoints.
I had this recently, and it caused vibration from the front side where the joint was buggered.

Could it be because of an unbalanced wheel? Check if you have damaged one of your wheels...
It could also be that the mechanic that balanced your wheels had his machine...unbalanced !! - It has happened to me.

Are the front wheels pumped evenly, have you a damaged tyre.check all front bushes,as in track rod ends as described by previous contributor(tie rod ends)Lastly check front tyres any irregularities, eveness,or bulges ?.
