Replacing complete wing mirror

Post by Saw Doc Fan »

A couple of weeks ago some little ####ard wrecked my drivers side wing mirror, I've just got a replacement through the post and want to know how easy/difficult it is.
Never had to replace one before and haynes manual is useless.
Do I need special tools etc
Thanks

If its the same as the XM its screwed in from behind the outer door skin, look behind and you should see the screws, I think they are torqx. If its electric, you will have to take the door panel off to gain access to the wires, unless you fancy cutting and joining them - I did that with the temperature sensor in the n/s mirror.

is yours the electric or manually adjusted one?

replaced my manual and it really was a piece of cake, half an hour at the most, longest part is getting the door trim off and remebering how it goes back together,

all u need as mentioned before, a set of torx bits, and a big flat tool for pryin the trim off

Thanks all, it was easier than I first thought, took me about 3/4 hour, and jobs a good 'un.
And no it's not electric, which is why it was easier.
