Xantia MK1 clutch adjustment

Post by lolingram »

Is there an adjustment on th MK2 Xantia (HDi 90bhp) with auto clutch clearance to eanble the pedal height to be altered?

If so any thoughts as to where it is?

Cheers

Not that I am aware, there certainly isn't on the XM. Is the pedal too high or too low?

The auto adjuster on my clutch cable has given up (you can hear it 'ratcheting' when pressing the pedal), so I've added a suitable spacer behind the nipple at the clutch end for now, on the same principle as the manual adjusters. Seems to work perfectly well.

The opposite problem to the above then! Is the adjuster working OK, is there free movement on the pedal, or is it just that it is uncomfortably high?

Still free play, but uncomfortanly high - the wife's XUD Xantai is just right, and jumping between the two results in hiccups are stalling for a mile or two...[/quote]

Short of bending the pedal, I don't think that there is a lot you can do about it. It needs some slack in the cable but the auto adjuster would take it out again. The only real solution is to fit a manually adjustable cable, but it's a lot of work!
