Can one of you good folk explain how I can remove my radio please as I need to get the serial number etc to get the code after having a new battery fitted. the year is 1999

You need a torx screw driver - medium, not sure the exact number.
Remove the ashtray, it kinda sits in a small frame, and you lift the actual tray part out.
Then unscrew both screws which are now visible, then pull the plastic thin console surround frame out, it has 2 little clips at the top.
Then a case of removing the screws holding the radio in, and the pull it out.
That's from memory I hope it's correct.

First Check the documentation which came with the car-it may contain a card showing the Radio Code.
It's a while ago since I removed my Radio, relying on memory. Remove the Ashtray Remove 2 lower screws, situated at the top of the ashtray, Then release the securing clips, using a small screwdriver, and remove the Heater/Radio sorround panel. There are 2more securing screws. I think they are in the same region as the previous 2, but only visible when the sorround is removed, Having removed those-the Radio can then be withdrawn from the facia....good luck
