Hi all

how long does a zx clutch cable last?

my cars 1.9d jus about to hit 80k and was wondering should i be worried yet ?

Nope, you should be able to get double that before thinking about it. I've had two ZX's go beyond 200K and never changed the cable.
Of course, if it feels rough and can identify that it's the cable and not the clutch itself causing the problem, then I would do the whole job together. Also, with average use, a diesel clutch should last for over 120k.

if the clutch operation is very heavy this will strain the cable,i dont know if the ZX has the plastic clip at the pedle end of the cable like the xantias do,also if the pedle is heavy its usualy a sign the clutch is at or near the end of its life

ah phew thats a relief thanks for the info nothin to worry about for the next 30k at least

i think the clutch is ok just the pedal feels weird at times
