Xantia electric window control unit location - X reg 2000

Hi, my Xantia SX estate 2000 model has a prob with the front electric windows (the back ones work fine), basically they don't work and the door switches on both doors don't illuminate to show they are active.
I reckon, and have been told, its the control switch so I followed the Haynes manual and removed the drivers door trim but there was no sign of the switch mounted on the small metal bracket as shown in the manual. Is the Haynes manual down level? Is the control switch held somewhere else on the latest Xantias?

I've checked the fuse for the windows, its fine, plus felt and searched around the inside of the drivers door for a loose block connector that I reckon should be connected to the switch but nothing and no cut wires.

Again, any help would be appreciated.
