Plip question

Post by paulbx »

Xantia Hdi 90 year 2000 estate

Briefly my one and only working plip - (I have a non working one) has decided to unlock remotely but not lock. I presume this is dwindling battery power.

I am aware that once I change the battery that this being a radio plip Its an expensive trip to Citroen main dealer.

Any advice otherwise?

Apologies if this repeats any recent threads.

you can replace the battery no problem with a small phillips screwdriver but the fact it unlocks sugests the battery is ok.souds like the button may have fell off the circuit board, you can see this when you remove the cover to check the battery.

I'm not sure that it will need recoding if you replace the battery, but with care you can avoid the possibility. Simply connect an external battery across the terminals before doing the swap :)
