Hi Mike,

I assume it's just the engine (and maybe the gearbox) you're interested in.

If so, you could always buy one of the XM workshop manuals available on ebay for about a fiver. The XM uses the same engine and gearbox as your car.

Haynes Xm manual ONLY covers the diesel and 2.0i petrol engines - NO V6!!
And anyhow, the Xantia V6 is TOTALLY different engine too - 60˚ NOT the
same as the Xm's 90˚.

The answer is the French language Revue Technique/Practique L'expert
automobile manuals which are brilliant and will set you back about a fiver
on www.ebay.fr

I was not recommending Haynes, I was recommending a CD version of the official Citroen workshop manual.

Andrew, you're wrong. Whilst the early XM had 90 degree V6s I can assure you that my 2000 series 2 Xm has a 60 degree, 24 valve, 4 cam engine, type ES9J4. I think you'll find that's the same engine as in the Xantia?

Similarly, the auto gearbox type 4HP20 is the same.

The CD that I suggested deals with things like removal and refitting, cambelt and plug changes, head removal etc., etc.. That's why I suggested it.

Take it or leave it - I was only trying to help.

Regards,
Derek.

No problem. I find most of the time I'm very much in series1 Xm V6 mode!!
I've a few including a s1 24v! They did another type of V6!?

Of course you're correct - I do stand corrected and don't take offence
[my brain's a bit addled at this time of day!!] The 60˚ V6 saw action in the last
incarnation of Xm's but I'd equally suggest there wont be literature available
covering these that would be freely available.

Are you saying there is one for a fiver Derek!?

Sure, factory manuals are another matter. These go for silly money on ebay
and aren't fully/easily available on CD or for download on the net [unless I'm
looking in the wrong searches - mind s1 pdf's are out there though].

I've seen a CD that covers the main garage servicing parameters for all
and every car - not what the initial request asks for; a model specific
how-to rebuild the engine/box guide.

Now I've been reminded about S2 Xm's what do you need to know Mike,
I do have a factory Xm S2 manual...

Mind, I'm out now for the evening so will look them up when I can.

Andrew, no offence taken.

I don't know if you also subscribe to the XM club forum but I have a copy of Noz's Cd. As you probably know he spent a long time copying the Series 2 manual onto CD.

There is a similar sort of thing being advertised on ebay for £4.99 plus postage and it was that I was referring to.

Still, as you have the the manual you might well be able to answer Mike's questions.

Derek
