Greetings.
My trusty ZX ground to a halt the other night, diagnosed by me as no fuel at the carb.
I recently replaced the fuel pump with a 2ndhand one, so immediately suspected that. However, I've just tested the power supply at the pump & there isn't any....
1 week later...
Having digested the wiring diagram, I've located the fuel pump relay, sharing the box with the ECU inside the nearside wing.
However, when I put a power supply from the battery onto the pump, it worked on the 2nd go. I then tested the discarded pump (hadn't made its way to the dump) & voila! it worked. Hmmmmm.
I reconnected the power supply & the car started - anyone had a dodgy pump or fuel relay could give me any pointers? The pump is ca 80pounds & the relay pushing 40, so I don't want to replace anything needlessly, especially as the MoT is not far away.
Thanks
Jonathan
