Xantia - Which Headlight Bulbs?

Post by BonceChops »

I have a series 2 1998 Xantia. It takes the same H1 type headlight bulbs as my 1996 series 1 Xantia did. Does anyone know if this is correct? I have seen listing for 1997> Xantia as using H7 bulbs. I thought the series 2 Xantia had different headlights to the series 1 model. If so does that mean my series 2 has been fitted with the earlier type headlights?

Something strange happened when Citroen introduced the series 2 Xantia, I have seen quite a few 1999 S Reg series 1 Xantia, mine is a 1998 R reg series 2. They must have had quite a few series 1 models to get rid of when the series 2 came out.

Careful when distinguishing between 'series 1' and 'series 2' it would seem that there were many variations in between e.g. my first Xantia V6 was in effect a 'series 1' but with the later 'series 2' front lower to accomodate the fans/radiator extra's etc.

I usually look at the bonnet and dashboard. Both of which changed on the series 2.
Not necessarily for the better either. I have the horn being in the middle of the steering wheel as opposed to the end of the indicator stick on the series 1.
I also think the series 1 bodywork is less prone to rust - sorry, nothing to do with headlights :D

I prefer the interior on earlier models... though some of the reasons for change were understandable.. airbags etc.
