Hi, as mentioned in an earlier post, my ZX bump starts and runs like clockwork, but will not start conventionally (even though the starter turns the engine over etc).
I have further investigated and found there to be no spark in the H.T. system when trying to turn the engine over as in conventional starting, but there is a very healthy spark after the engine starts.
Could this be a problem with the Ignition amplifier ?
or am I barking up the wrong tree.
Regards, Jules

I had a similar but opposite problem with a BX 14. It would crank and fire, but then die as soon as the starter was released. Eventually tracked down to a knackered igntion switch - there was cutting the current to the igntion system in run position, but there was in start position. Eventually put in a secondary switch to override this. Might be worth checking you have not got something similar in crank position.
