intermediate bearing..

driveshaft intermediate bearing,on xantia, could? it give same symtone as a wheel bearing as whining on any sort of going round corners left or right ...most promanent on left steer.changed both front bearings still does it ...on going prob ,bar doing the rears ..

Yes - the intermediate bearing could be making the noise you have. In the past I've stopped it, at least for a short time by giving it a squirt with a liquid grease spray. Difficult to replace on the existing driveshaft unless you have access to a long puller.

Used a Gorilla bar and a heavy mallet to get mine out of a ZX but it was my car and I wouldn't do it again!!
