aux belt

Post by john alexander »

Hi just changed the aux belt tensioners and idlers on my 98 xantia1.9 tdi a/c and cant figure out the route of the belt to put it back on , as I cant find my BOL has anyone got a picture of the set up , its the kind that is adjusted from the bottom not the one with the spring behind the alternator, its a harrison compressor if that makes a difference . many thanks john.

i must admit i play these jobs by ear,and it will only fit one way,as any other way it will either be to short or to long

the only trouble with that is these belts have to be very tight,so you might find that it wont last long before it starts sliping, and then you might not have any more adjustment

This is the smallest belt size which is useable. Anything smaller will cause premature wear on the tensioner roller
