Hi haven't been here in a while........
The new owner of my Xantia TD R reg, has rung up with a bizzare problem, 2 15amp fuses keep blowing (rear wiper and indicators) and the speedo has gone to 150 mph and stayed there.
Any ideas folks a bit stuck as he's going on holiday Saturday

The speedo problem usually happens if there is a surge of power or spike, its common if the car has been jump or boost started. I gather it can only really be rectified by removal of the speedo and shaking the bugger back round to zero again.
As for the popping fuses, have a look in the rear section of the car for trapped / frayed wire. Past experience has taught me that its usually something like this, where wire either passes through a bulkhead / door frame or something has been disturbed and has caught the wire grounding it out.

Suggest you take a picture of the speedo reading before you fix it..... the blokes down the pub will never believe it otherwise!!
