Post by nino1 »

Hi, any pictures of the area that needs to be lubed to free the vertical movement?

It's a MK2 XM.

Tnx.

Don't need pictures - trace the linkage from the anti-roll bar, and clean and lubricate everything that moves or looks as though it should. This includes the rod going into the corrector (has pipes going into it and is round) and any bits of the control lever mechanism that are handy.

Filthy job - things like cans of spray grease, brushes, oil cans, chainsaw oil (stickier than engine oil) are all handy as well as wire brushes and rags - as well as goggles for you.

Health warning may have been given - you are messing with the mechanism that will cause the car to drop - and if it does the car may KILL you - you wouldn't be the first.

Don't really want to go for a complete makeover, just the basics.
Can i do it without going under the car?

Also would wd40 do the trick?

In which case the only answer is to pay someone else to do it.

no you cant do it without going under the car,the best way is up on car ramps or over a pit,as the suspension drops rapidly when moveing the hight control mechanisum
