megane struts

recently changed drivers side strut on my wifes renault megane 1.4 petrol (1996)used one from scrappies and after changing noticed that the car was pulling to the left on inspection on the top of the struts noticed that the drivers side one has more threads showing than the passengers side one,could this affect the car pulling to the left and if so how do i rectify this any help would be great

Could indcate that you have not changed the top strut bearing or bushes may be collapsed. This would affect the car as one side would be pulled up further than the other. Just drop it ou and double check eveything is in one piece and not falling apart.

thanks for your help stuart mcb r the bushes the rubber things at the top if so they seem to be ok
