:( hi folks i recently bought an 02 citroen c5 1.8 lx petrol and have just serviced it myself for which i am quite proud of, me not being the most mechanically minded person (i try my best)but one thing puzzles me and that is where the hell is the fuel filter situated on the car i have looked all over but cant seem to find it i tried to get a manual for it but apparently there are none, could someone please enlighten me it would be much appreciated thanks :?:

My C5 is diesel so I'm not familiar with petrol versions, but if your C5 is similar to Pug 406's look alongside the fuel tank.

the petrol doesnt have a replaceable fuel filter,only the strainer on the pump in the tank.

:? thanks for the info wheeler and johnd ,when buying parts for the service i got a fuel filter from my local parts co so assumed it had a replacable filter ,does the strainer on the pump in the tank need to be replaced when servicing or should it be ok the car has only done 26k thanks again :D

its not part of any service schedule to change or clean it.

Hi all, I think you might want to think again about the fuel filter for a 1.8i C5 as there is one listed at aep Part number EP145 price £4.50 and on the Peugeot 406 it should be changed every 36k miles and is located on the r/h side of the fuel tank. As for the C5 petrol models I don’t know the location as I also have a diesel model. So I hope this helps some how. :)
