Post by citronut »

this car is an R reg SAXO VTR
what is the usual faults the hydro electric power steering pumps suffer with,as im checking one out for a customer who said the steering was intermitent then completly packed up,the relay is working ok and there is live and neg to thepump plug,so im asuming its the pump its self

Arent these small pumpmotors rather hefty loaded ?
I'd think its the motor itself packed up (motorwindings burnt etc.).

the 2 most common things that cause steering failure on saxos is the ignition switch & the pump/motor itself.if the switch fails the HRW & blower motor go out at the same time.
