Scenic 2.0 Auto Power steering fault. 1999

Unread post by gadgetgricey »

Bit vague this I know, but wondered if anyone could provide a quick test as to confirm if the power steering pump is fully working.

My wife works term time, so has not used her car at all for the past six weeks, preferring to walk or muggins to drive her.

I have used her car for this period without a problem.

On returning to use it again she swears the power steering is not as light as it was before. ( I have tried the "yes dear, but remember you have not driven it for six weeks" approach, but she is adamant)

There are no untoward noises or sounds at any point in its travel.

My own opinion would be, its a little heavy, but no worse than any other cars that I have driven with PAS.

Any ideas/tests to confirm if all working correctly would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Dave
