scrap yards

Post by john alexander »

Hi , how about a section on scrappys , we could list all the yards in our areas , and hopefully give an update on stock after each visit . with the laws changing scrappies are getting harder to find, think back ten years . Six have gone within an hours drive of me since then. when I go on holiday I look for them, it would be easier if I could print a list before I go. regards john.

Hi no something we compile , so that we can trust the content , after all thats why we use this forum. we trust each others advice , as its based on our own knowledge. john. PS if the administrators want to I will try to list yards in my area.

John -

Its a very good idea.

But please note that this forum has been set up and is been maintained - by one person only - who is using much of his free time to do that. And for free.

A forum like this MUST be kind of self-maintained by the members answering to other members technical matters on Citroen cars.
It is simply impossible for one admin or mod to answer all questions - and run a continuing compilation af any lists.

They are humans you know - with a life outside the forum

Well. G W Bridges here in Sussex is a monster..

There must be 30-50 staff.. I hate the non personal approach of the mean counter staff - but they must get so many idiots in all the time asking for used Cambelts etc :? !

They have a plentiful supply of French cars, prices are highish... compered to a private ebayer breaking a car. But its a handy place to have nearby. Doubtful if they would help move a car for you to get underneath it etc. I once went to a yard in Bridewater, Somerset and they guy couldn't have been more helpful! Used a forklift to remove the Volvo I was looking at and raised it in the air, all so I could get shocks off ;)
(I didnt stand underneath before someone asks!)
