Xantia Activa

Post by activa »

Hello to all the people in this forum!...
Many thanks and congrats to the site owner...
I am a new member from Greece, owning a Xantia Activa. So far - I have the car for one year - no problems at all. I hope I won't need you guys!! :)
I am thinking of installing a Superchip on the car. Does anybody have heard anything good or bad about this?
I Greet you All !
Dimitris

If the car is a HDI,or a model which has an ECU fitted no problem in fitting superchips. The older models without ECU can not be superchipped(as far as I am aware)."Diesel Car" a well known British monthly magazine has been running articles on this subject for some time,on various cars and all the comments have been very, very positive.Extra Torque, extra BHP,and more economy. There is the question of advising your insurance company of this work having been carried out,Although how they would know whether it was done or not is another question. That said I have not read anything on an Active that was superchipped but it should be as good as the ones that i've read about.

Hi jmd and Happy New Year!
Thank You for your reply, but what you mean by HDI?
My car is 2.0 litre turbo-charged, model 1999. I've heard that with the chip it will go from 150bhp (now) to 175bhp...

Activa,
If you looked at the superchips site ( http://www.superchips.co.uk ), you would see that they do a chip for the Activa, £511.13 which increases the output by 30Bhp.
JMD,
If I remember correctly, the true Activa was only available with a 2L petrol engine and low pressure turbo. I believe later Xantia models had some part of the Activa system built into either the front or the rear suspension to try and boost end of line sales, can anyone confirm that ?
Mat.

In rhd UK spec the Xantia Activa was only available with the 2.0 petrol turbo, but in some other countries you could get the 2.1 TD, then 2.0 HDi diesel versions.
Its a great shame this didn't extend to the UK, 'cause I'd love an Activa with an HDi engine<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

Hi Dimitris,
After you get the Activa chipped and have run it for a while, would you post a report about the difference it makes?
I would be interested in what a Superchip does to the fuel consumption and whether it ruins the CT turbo engines' excellent torque characteristics.
Many thanks
