Ive recently bought a 306 hdi and serviced this last week. When i come to do the fuel filter this cap was very stiff and i was careful not to split the housing or the cap. I ensured that the o ring and metal ring was replaced but it didnt feel nice when i replaced the cap. It was really tough and wouldnt seat right at first.
I was wondering if this could cause any problems if i dont try to seat it better. There is no fuel leak but i dont want to cause future damage.
I also noticed (when i bought the car) that there is a 'slight' rough sound when accelerating up to 3000+ revs. Ive read that this may be injectors. Is there a way of detecting which injector may be at fault and what is the best way to buy or replace injectors from HDI's?
thanks

noise may be bottom crank pulley they tend to brake up and start rattling /knocking,if you have a scope and low current amp clamp you can see current draw on each injector pre and main injection knackered injector shows up on scope a treat.have a look at www.peugeotmt.co.uk for some good scope images
