LHM in Drivers Footwell!!!!

Post by wrinklet1 »

Hi,
I've got LHM in Drivers Footwell!!!! :(
It looks like its from the brake valve, in fact I am sure it is.
Is there a quick win for this or not?
Has anyone removed a brake valve?
The car is a 1993 1.9TD sx Xantia with abs, no aircon.

Tips please on a postcard

Sounds like the brake valve. Havn't done one but it doesn't look to bad a job (unless anyone else knows different) The are £95.00 + vat from GSF.

I had this on my old xantia 1.8i sx. Its not too bad a job, usual fiddly replacing of high pressure pipes and seals but not too bad.

you dont need to replace the dozer valve at all, just fit a new rubber dome it the end of the vale which the pedel sitts against,i will try and find the part numbers for the dome and retaining ring

part numbers from pr.net,retaining ring 5424455,protector(rubber dome)95640067,its best to have both of these parts incase you damage the ring on removal

i have only done one quite a while ago but im sure i removed the two intercooler pipes which go down the rear of the engine, then frm inside the car undo the two nuts that hold the dozer valve to the bulkhead, then ease the dozer valve into the engine bay enough to gently bring the pedle end aronud to face you,be carefull not to damage any of the pipes, then prize out the aluminium ring which holds the rubber dome in place, and remove the dome, refit and bobs your uncle whatsits you aunt

Hi, Well, I did it.....
Removed the underdash on drivers side, Found the two nuts, found out my sockets weren't long enough, got an old box spanner, removed nuts, removed turbo intake pipes, carefully pulled the dosier valve out and replaced the rubber seal/dome and ring. Sore hands, but job took about 2 hrs, took longer to remove the sodden carpet and power wash the carpet to remove the LHM.

Thanks a lot Citronut for your help

Paul :)

Yes, sadly I did pay that, and i didnt get any discount for being in the CCC either, the parts manager said he hadn't heard of CCC.
A bit of Bull I reckon.

how many parts did you end up buying as i would not have thought you should be charged that much just for the rubber protector and securing ring, and yes i think you are ment to get some discount from citroen when being a CCC member, maybe you should have said your a member of the KKK whooops!!!!!!!!
