ZX door locks

Post by Seamster15 »

Hi All,

I 've just found that I can open my ZX reflex with a yale house key on either the nearside or offside  . Has anyone else had this problem ? its a 95 car, but it seems that the locks on bothsides have become dodgy? they haven't even been tampered with.

Any idea's ?

haha:

"any ideas?"

"get new locks quik"

but its a bit odd for them both to start playing up at the same time as the drivers door would obviously get more use - mayb they have always been crap???

Try lubricating them - just a thought - but think its worked for me in the past - never quite understood why but as they showed some semblance of resistance I wasn't bothered.

GSF and Eurocarparts may sell lock kits.

Lock and ignitions from GSF is £69.50 +VAT
Lock only set from GSF is £36.50 +VAT

If lubricating doesn't work you better get a set as you've now told 5862 people how to get into your car

Haha ! indeed, in fact they are welcome to it!

TBH I can't be bothered to change the locks, I was just curious to how common this problem is.

She's a banger and if I can coax her on to 160k I will be very happy!
