What are they really like? My impression is that it will be the poor brother of the 110, and feel as gutless as the 1.9 TD, but..... the extra torque should make up for it a bit, and 50 rather than 40 mpg would be attractive in the current fuel price climate.
Only ask as there's one on ebay near me - 2000X, 65k, starting at £1k (no bids yet ) - assuming I flogged the TD for £250, I'd be nearly quids in after a year at 50 mpg / £1 litre / 25k miles a year.
Anbody want a 1.9TD VSX with 90k, leak sealed matrix, climate temp sensor hanging out of the dash, slightly worn clutch, slight leak on NSR suspension, and a sinking rear end?
Thought not !

I have a Xantia 90 esate. Prior to this I had a BX turbo D hatch. I have never driven a Hdi110.
I'd say its much quicker than the BX though less fun, with a lot more grunt up to 2000 rpm. It couldl be quicker but never feels sluggish.
It returns about 50 mpg and does NOT have the dual mass flywheel which I beleieve the 110 Hdi's have. The 90 does NOT have an intercoolelr (silly penny pinching) - I've looked at retro fitting one but seems alot of work and expense.
Overall I am happy - its quick enough and has a lot of pulling power. Happily motorways at 80 but if you'd like a it to do 90/100 then get a HDi110.

We have an HDi 90 Xantia SX, and I'm more than happy with it. Not as fast as my previous 2.1TD, but in every other respect it's better - Smoother, quieter, better dash and seats. And the fuel economy is fantastic.
And it will do 90/100 on the motorway, easily.
