xantia lhm leak

Post by weety »

oh dear my xantia has sprung a small but expensive lhm leak (ahhh reminds me of my old bx).....its getting through a litre of lhm every week

anyway its leaking from underneath the fluid container....appears to be from a small box thingy with lots of pipes running into it (havent taken my socket set to it yet to try to track the leak down properly)

so whats the name of the small box thingy underneath the fluid container (oh and it hasnt got ABS so its nothing to do with that box) does the little box thingy tend to leak (or is it likely to be just a loose pipe connection)

oh in case you hadn't guessed i really have very little idea how the 'magic suspension' system works!

any help gratefully received

Cheers

That will be the Anti Sink Valve, the front one is located under the reservoir and is a common leaky bit, best you change it soon!!

Snagged this from the Pleiades web site.

Should look like this and will have fluid coming from the blanking plug on the end.

Your best bet would be to give Pleiades a call in the morning, or if you are in the Bradford area, try M&C Lockwoods.

If your anti-sink is showing signs of leaking, change it quickly. Mine suddenly dumped the entire reservoir of LHM leaving me stranded without suspension, brakes or power assist. To be on the safe side, I changed the rear one as well. GSF have them for less than £60.

HA HA !!!

Slim works for no-one, Slim is semi retired and only ventures out under certain conditions.

When he wants to
If he feels like it
When the money is right

When the above criteria is filled, Slim will work !!!

I allways pick up the bits from Pleiades as they are not to far from me, the prices are ok, the quality is good, and it all has a 2 x year warranty.

Also Pleiades supply DS hydraulic parts, I have spent a lot of my past working on the DS (cos not a lot of people want to)

Quite straightforward to do. Rear is easier. Front access via removing battery, but also from underneath to undo fixing bolt. Pipe seals will be left behind in the old valve, which you'll need unless you buy new ones.
