Finally took my V6 on its first long voyage. 1000 miles in 3 days, From Sussex to Weardale (County Durham) and back. Got a couple of spare drivers in the form of dad and brother. Car was lovely. Only real fault was my back box seems to have no baffles, so slightly noisey at certain revs. Sounds like a Subaru!
The front end is damn hard.. even tiny imperfections are felt thru car... my 1999 LX was so so much softer, so i guess its Sphere change time. (Can harldy push front end down with car stopped)
Car used about £120-130 in fuel, mainly at £1 per litre. That was 90+MPH motorway driving, with a fair bit of weight in, and lots of hilly dale hairpins, so, not terrible, nothing on a Deisel tho.
Can i ask, does the Sport mode change the engine mapping as well as gear change durations? certainly on ICE mode the car feels much less torquey.. If I drove everywhere in ICE would I save fuel, even cruising at 80mph?

I think if you drove everywhere in ice mode you would increase your fuel consumption as it'll always be lugging a higher gear than needed, hence it feeling less torquey. Not sure if the mapping is changed but gearbox and engine ecu's are interactive.
My front suspension has always felt a bit stiff, so when I recently changed the front spheres and used 2.0 HA XM ones which have a slightly softer damping and slightly higher pressure and it certainly gives it more of that floaty feeling than it used to have. N45320 is the GSF part no.

Many people drive over 70mph, 80+ is normal, in fact a speed gun would let you off doing 80mph (10% plus a few mph over).
Yes 70mph is the legal limit, but i can promise you that over 70% of people drive over this limit, i'd guess 30% of that 70% do up to 90mph!
I don't condone speeding or breaking the law!
Good use of common sense is WAY more important that not speeding. I believe if you drive too slow your mind gets numb and you are even more of a hazard, especially if you drive too slow, you aggrevate the people you hold up and they end up taking risks.

I agree, safe use of speed bearing in mind condiotions etc.
To be honest, unless my speedo is wrong, almost every car, motorbike, modern Cdti etc van, and some small lorries were all going at the same speed (not that that is an excuse as such)
