c5 2.2 engine rattle

hi all.
anders, i have developed a rattle on my c5, 2.2 hdi (51000 mls)
had the aux belt off and checked the pulley on the crank, seems ok
but when tapped sounds a bit loose (not solid).
also have some lateral play on the power steering pulley.
could either of these cause a rattle?

don't have a rattle anymore!!
sold car.going to buy a 4x4 td.
with older technology.
just too many gismos on modern cars.
still like the c5.
