Went to get the aircon in the 405 TD Hunter topped up today...only neither the garage nor myself could find the valves. And it was realy hot today

So...anyone have a clue?

A 405 Hunter still has the old R12 system which means two things.

1) the high-side and low-side valves are mounted on the end of the compressor, right up close to the sump, covered in sludge and almost inacessable.

2) you can't just have it "topped up" If it's still running with R12 it will need a conversion to R134a, or a Drop-in of R413a. (details are all over the aircon forum)

Oh well, never mind. Me and the aircon bloke were searching around the engine bay for an age trying to find the valves!

Saved the money from not getting the aircon fixed my getting a nice G-reg Vitara. Possible project one day in the distant future - Vitara vs XUD9TE!!!
