When a clutch wears - it does so by the release bearing grooving into the clutch spring fingers.
On releasing the clutch - the release bearing is catched in the grooves and now held by the finger springs trying to return. The pedal is then held down by its weight - as there are nothing else to push it back up
In most cases the bearing will eventually slip no big problem - and the whole thing is mostly felt as a "notchy" clutch pedal - with a weird "hard point" just before the bite point.
But this depends if the clutch is the pull or push type - referring to how the release bearing acts on the clutch finger springs.
Because all PSA cars are born as LHD's - the clutch cable takes an unwanted querky route from pedal to clutch on RHD cars. This in turn makes for some strange symptoms on a worn cable. The inner cable will tend to groove into its outer part - making the cable stick.
I cant say what exactly applies on your car. But I'd certainly try the cable as first call. At 120Kmiles it would not be a waste - should it be a later clutch job that is the solution.
That is - if the cable has not already been replaced
