peugeot 307 2002 automatic gear - stick shift problem

[wonderd]

while i was driving today, i noticed that the gear has changed by itself into manual mode and it started moving between gears.

I opened the cover of the box by the stick, and noticed a spring laying there.

how do i open the whole area to get to the spring and the base of the stick?
