I know somebody who has a V6 Series 1 XM, and his engine management ECU has died.
I have given him a spare one i had from a breaker but i dont know the PIN code for the immobiliser, is there any way of by passing this code?
What are the options that we have here?
Thanks in advance,
David.

Re: XM Engine Management ECU
Hi David - I believe the management system is programmed to suit either manual or automatic as the gearing ratios warrant different mapping for the injection. I'm guessing it'll likely be an auto you're after though...DHallworth wrote:I know somebody who has a V6 Series 1 XM, and his engine management ECU has died.

Ok, you just MAY have given your mate an ECU computer where the code has been bypassed in the past - do you know anything about the breaker one? Try it before you go on the hunt for another. Breakers are notorious for losing codes for this kind of thing though. Ebay is another port of call [especially Germany where these have a keen following].
These do surface surprisingly regularly - try Yahoo XM-L as a guy called Dave did have a whole load of Xm parts as a job lot from ebay.

the ecu i gave George didn't have the code by passed.
PeterN, i am on the XM forum, so is George!!
The ECU i have from the breaker is from an automatic, and george's is a manual V6, but he says he only needs one to get the car mobile at the moment (even if it is rough).
Thanks for the replies guys.
