Accumulator Sphere...

Post by Crinkle Cut Jasper »

Hi all,

Just bought a new accumulator sphere from GSF for my '95 Xantia 1.9td. I have had a look at the forum and keep coming across the use of a 'square seal'. I have had a look at my new sphere and that was only supplied with a round seal.

Maybe I am being really stupid here and am about to get laughed off the forum

But what is a square seal and do I need to get one before I fit the sphere?

Also is the accumulator sphere as 'straight forward' (!) to fit as a normal sphere?

Any help greatly appreciated

Cheers
Jas

It refers to the 'section' of the seal, in other words looking at the end if you cut through it. A 'square shaped' one wouldn't be a lot of good, I can see what you are visualising! :? and yes, the sphere just screws in 'hand tight' getting the old one undone is usually the problem :x

When i got my acc.sphere from GSF last week i got the square seal with it, so i would assume you have it too, so don't worry!

Remember to put the seal in the hole first, not on the sphere are u screw it in, and alos lubricate the thread neck and seal with a bit of lhm first.
