1.9D 1994 Clio Starter problem

For some time now, the starter has been slow on this clio. It has had a new starter, new battery and alternator. Now, it won't start at all.

The ignition switch seems ok as all the lights etc work as they should.

I have noticed when poking around that a pink wire with a spade connector near to the alternator isn't connected to anything. I've also noticed that there is a pink wire going to a contact on, what i assume is the starter relay, behind the battery.

Is this the problem? If so, wherer should this wire be connected.
