xantia stepper motor resetting, how? (idle motor?)

Hi,
I changed my idle speed stepper motor (if that's how it's called),
how can i reset it?
What should i do now? the enginge still shut's down on idle speed (mostley when the RPM's coming down from around 3000-4000).
How can i check if the idle speed motor is working?
Also there is a small bold on the throttle wheel, that can raise the idle rpm, how should i set him? (assuming someone touched it)

Can you tell us what engine your car has or do we need to use our psychic powers to figure that out ?

Needless to say, knowing what engine you have has some bearing on the situation....

ok, it's a 1997 xantia 2.0i (8 valves)

it will never happen again!
