Thump from back end

I've just took my Xantia to a local garage to get the back suspension arm bearings done, on the way back home I noticed a thumping noise coming from the back end that got louder going round roundabouts and stopped when I pressed the brakes then started again when I released them. I'm taking the car back to the garage tomorrow, any advice on what this could be would be great just to have a bit of knowledge on the subject before I go.

they must have left something loose,it will be interesting to here what they tell you

Could very well be the rear damper box thumbing against nearby chassis - a common problem on all cars.
Maybe the rubber hanger has dislodged - or the garage forgot to refit it.

I took the car back to the garage today, after the guy had a test drive we had a look to see what was making the thumping noise but we could find nothing, everything looked in first class condition, the guy put the wheel back on and took it for another longer run but when he came back he said the noise had disappeared and the cars been fine since. Kind of weird!

Bet he got rid of the mechanic under the car doing a sharp turn ...
