renault extra van starting problem

when i do get it started it wont run right at all if you take it on road it will go for about 50 yards then just die and it just keeps doing this i changed fuel filter and its still the same can anyone give me some advise plz

i just like to let you know i got problem fixed it was the diesel primer it was faulty and i put a rubber hand primer same as the 106 in far better job than the orginal primer
