605 head unit replacement

I am looking to replace my stereo, but I was under the impression that with the switches and display under the head unit, it is not a standard size.

however I have a few problems:
1) How do I extract the existing unit without causing damage. I haven;t seen any location pins, screws etc.

2) Most accesory companies do not believe the 605 requires a facia adaptor

3) In the event that I DO need an adaptor, can anyone suggest a suitable source?

I have been directed to Peugeot dealers parts desk, so I might give them a try, but I wanted a second opinion!
