Well, we are now a 2 Citroen family! My GF has sold her 205 and yesterday we bought a 1998 Mk 2 Xantia 1.8 16V petrol.
Good news: 67K genuine & 1 family owners & £300 spent last year on new spheres.
Bad news: Squeaky brakes (needs pads & discs all round), full service & LHM change.
The cost £350! (auction!) However there are a few niggles which I hope to ask the knowledgeable:
The air-con doesn't work. I don't think the pump is cutting in. Could it be low on refridgerant? Is it worth buying a can from Halfrauds and topping it up and if so, where is the recharge point?
Also, the radio has been lost. Is there a way of sorting this without giving the dealer my inside leg measurements?

There is a stack of information on this site about both of these problems. A search of the site will undoubtedly find what you're looking for.triumphtoledo wrote:The air-con doesn't work. This is not a signature.
"the radio has been lost."
Or do you mean the Code has been lost??
If so try

PIC!
It polished up quite well, taking two people the whole of Bank Holiday Monday to clean up:
It seems strange the specs of the Mk2 Xantias. Although this is the 1.8 16v Xantia LX, it has fogs, electric front windows & nearside mirror, Air con etc. The only difference I can see between teh LX & SX is ABS, CD player, rear electric windows. Surely that cannot be it??!

The SX has also got rain sensing wipers which are brilliant. All the models had air con, has yours got Traffic master and a switchable passenger airbag?

Yes they all have pssenger airbags, If yours is switchable then the switch will be next to the handbrake. You have to use your key to switch it off.triumphtoledo wrote:yeah it has a passenger airbag. No idea how to turn it off though!
