Electronic speedo module

Post by DaveW »

Does anyone know if the electronic speedo module fitted to the Xantia TD has been used on Peugeots using the 1.9 engine unit.

If it is/was used on these, what model(s) used that engine.

Mine has quit and, as I live out in the sticks (nearest reasonable breaker is 50 miles away) I'm trying to locate a S/H one.

Bump.

This may be the speedo sensor fault on the gearbox housing:

Can anyone elaborate on this, or dig up relevant topics ?

small chance it could be the plastic drive in diff housing.. mine went recently after a driveshaft removal/refit..

£1 part.. if you pull speedo drive out you may be able to detect rotation (or not) of metal worm drive driven by this plastic item.

(roll car forwards a meter and feel if it turns?)

where in West Sussex are you? out of interest

I had checked the connections and they were pristine.
It was just that breakers are thin on the ground around here and it would have been useful to know if it was a common part to both Citroen and Peugeot. (for me and others who frequent these boards)

I have now managed to get a S/H module (£5) and all is working again.
