Xantia rotary connector

Post by Darko »

Hello,

does anyone by chance have some close up pictures of the rotary connector?

After I put the steering wheel back on in my Xantia (93 with radio buttons on the wheel), the wire got stuck into the rotary connector (didn't notice that) and when I turned the wheel, the connector got opened...

It took me one hour and several tries to put all the rings and everything together, however I can't manage to make the thing stay together - I don't know how does the cover part (highlighted red in the pictures below) and the inner "cylinder" (highlighted green) snap together... The second thing is that I don't exactly know is which wire goes into which groove in the green highlighted cylinder....

Does anyone have an idea how this rotary connector is put together or by chance any pictures of it?

There are only 2 options :
Either they snap together by tiny lockpins - or they are ultrasonic welded.

Your only chance is to try glue the 2 parts firmly together using some kind of an epoxy filler.

- or try the breakers.

A new genuine part is in the £80 region

Scrapyard might be the best bet.

Got one for a 405 last year, £2 in total
