AX Worth?

Post by mezuk04 »

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Citroen-Ax-Spree- ... dZViewItem

In regard to this vehicle (Im bored at work and find it fulfilling to read about Citroens on Ebay) would any of you agree that this car is worth £1k and although a car is worth what someone is prepared to pay, generally speaking is this estimate a little bit too much

Just out of curiousty really?

Ha ha. 120000 miles and he wants £1000? Knock a zero off the end of that price and you'd be somewhat closer to its real value.

I think the £430.. bid for the car was a very good offer.. Personaly with the "grannies curtains" type trim I would not want it at any price.. Yukk!!

Here in DK you can buy a top spec '89 BX in near mint condition (except it needs a MOT) for less than 5000Dkr - which is chep for an old car still roadworthy.
A similar AX 14TRS would be close to 10,000Dkr - or roughly double the BX.

The trend is even more odd : the smaller the engine - the higher the cost of the AX. Thats because of the (very) cheap annual road tax - and the good fuel economy.

Basically the AX14 would always be cheaper than an AX10 or AX11.
I dont dare to think of what an AX10 - '97 - in MOT'ed condition would sell for here in DK

I'm sure I remember the last few AX's sold in the UK being available for about £4500 or even less, brand new, from certain dealers. Makes £1k for one 9 years & 120,000 miles later seem more than a little expensive!

Here in the UK you'd have to pay someone to take it away........

Well, according to Parkers Guide, that '97 AX he's selling would be worth £535 in good condition with average mileage for the age (ie. 80,000).

http://www.parkers.co.uk/pricing/used_c ... orsell=buy

That thing's 40,000 miles above average, so the £460 bid was probably way over the mark anyway.

One other thing. Does those rear wheels look a bit too close to the front edges of the wheel arches?

Just out of idle interest - did the AX ever get an air bag as this one seems to have?
I had a late P plate 1.5D which was an elephants scrote of a car - that never had an air bag. There was no mention of one in the handbook either.

Just what I was wondering, I can't remember ever seeing an AX with an airbag before. Could perhaps be the wheel off a Saxo that someones bolted on without connecting up all the airbag gubbins?

Surely an airbag in an AX would be dangerous - if the bag inflated it would blow all the windows out
