injector overhaul ?

Is it possible to overhaul Bosch diesel injectors ? Are there kits available for such a work from motorfactors ?
Car is question is a Xantia 1994 TDSX (Bosch pump) with 135K on clock.

Yes,but its not really a DIY job, although I suppose its possible, but you wouldn't be able to properly check opening pressures, spray patterns, etc.

Any good Diesel specialist will be able to do it for you- its their bread'n'butter work, just look in your yellow pages.

If I may be so bold as to ask (being technically pretty incompetent!!) why do you think they need an overhaul.? Having had a few XUD diesels, 2 of which did far more miles than yours without having the injectors overhauled, I wonder whether a dose of Millers and an "Italian tune up" might be the answer?

They can be overhauled. Instructions for Lucas ones can be found here - and Bosch will be much the same.

There are many independant Diesel specialists who will overhaul them for you but it may be worth checking new prices first.

Phil - My car more or less narrowly passed last MOT (I ran it with injector cleaner/ rev'd high etc before taking to MOT station with new air filter, oil/filter etc).
Before next MOT i was wondering whether any 'economical' job can be done to improve situation.
