XM speedo sender replacement

I have obtained a replacement speedo sendor for my 2.1 TD S2 XM auto, any tips on doing the replacement? Do I need to drain the auto trans first? Can it be done on ramps or does it require a pit?

Hoping this will fix my lazy speedo!

Should not be auto-fluid in the diff ? Me guess it will pretty much lke any other diff unit : remove cable & unscrew any retaining bolt replace unit. Refit retaining bolt and cable.

Thanks for that, I was wondering if I would get an oil shower when I pulled the old one off? Will see if I can get to it this weekend.
