V6 Xantia #2

Unread post by jgra1 »

Hi all, well i picked mine up last night. Its a Mark 2 Exclusive (but not an SE - which has even more toys)
yes auto, which is a shame.
The owner told me she had owned it a week!! scared me to death, but then she reiterated her story about her partners illness and not being able to get electric buggy in back.

its full FSH main dealer and 70K

It was a little noisier on the motorway than my 1.8LXi, I put this down to wider tyres and that ;) exhaust noise - which really caught my attention!

However, on the A road at the end of journey, pressed two buttons and the car was transformed! :) just drove on rails that would have left my LX rolling off into the opposite hedge, and then the acceleration!..

very happy, dont want to think about economy tho....

I have changed my insurance to Admiral and got a year TPFT for about £280.

SE 3.0

Unread post by jgra1 »

yes I was too, the seller of this car was a lady who used to sell citroens..

I asked her why the mark 1 has Computer and 10 speakers and not Mark 2, and she told me about the SE Mark 2..

One other question folks, My 1.8 LX was usually run about 80C except in sustained traffic, this V6 seems to be 85-90 all of the time? it got to 92 and the fan cut in ok.

yours?

although I would have thought that 100 is fine, the oil will surely be hotter than the water.. ?

my oil and water tend to sit around about the same temperature.

My dad says that on his 406 V6 Coupe, the oil sits around the same temp as the oil unless he starts "driving" it then it can go up to around about 100.

I thought Exclusive and Exclusive SE were C5 designations. Xantia only had Exclusive.

I was not aware of an SE version of the Xantia V6. I thought that the only difference is specification was that some have the cold climate pack (heated seats, mirrors and headlight washers) and other don't.
What extras does SE give?

i am stuck on this..

I only know that mark 1 3.0's had (I think) 10 speaker stereo and Computer..

The ex- citroen-sales lady who sold me my mark 2 said there WAS an SE Mark 2 which had this on.. mine doesnt.. I do have the button on the indicator stalk for the computer tho.?

I cant find any more proof that a Mark 2 3.0 Exclusive SE existed....

A Citroen sales lady?? All boils down to dealer reliability again, hiring a woman to explain model trims and option (still if she was sexy i'd may buy off her)... Parkers guides don't show anything of an Exclusive SE (and they are quite clued up), only Exclusive. My Exclusive has everything except cruise control and trip computer. That'll confuse her.
