Xantia Brake Torx sizes

Post by awg2 »

Does anyone know the size of the two Torx attaching the front brake caliper to the hub? It is bigger than my largest (50) but I don't really want to have to buy a range of biggies to find the correct one for just one job.

[I never needed them before as my Morris Minor of blessed memory used only a random range of slots, crossheads and conventional bolts with LHS carefully unmatched to RHS.]

Thanks for that.

I have now found (Note to self "REMEMBER TO SEARCH") a 2002 thread with confirmation of T55 as the size. (T30 for the disc bolts).

If you are hving trouble finding a T55 bit at your local shop, they often have packaged as a tool for Ford cylinder head bolts.

A useful tip:- ram some blutak into the orifice and carefully remove it. You can then take this along to your tool supplier to compare sizes.

Does this also work when you need to get keys cut or do you need a bar of soap for that?

who's house are u trying to rob then kowalski? 8) i would stick to blutak for that job, don't think the keycutter will think you are sane turning up with a bar of soap and a shape squashed into it, but blutak i think it's seems more clever.

it's cool that you can take any key and blutak the shape, then you can create your own set, something a piece of mild steel and a dremel will achieve me thinks... remember 'through they keyhole' with david frost?
